✓ Correct Answer: C. Denosumab
Denosumab can be used in the treatment of GCT, especially in those tumors that arise in difficult to access areas such as the pelvis and the sacrum. Denosumab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks RANK ligands. The tumor cells in GCT acts via the RANK ligands to stimulate the osteoclasts. And its this activated osteoclasts that destroy the bone in GCT. Therefore, Denosumab can stop activation of osteoclasts, thereby causing shrinkage of the tumor.
